Overview
Ferraiuoli’s government affairs practice is uniquely positioned to advise and counsel clients on conducting business in Puerto Rico. We offer institutional, substantive, and procedural know-how across diverse areas of focus including economic development and incentives, public-private partnerships, finance matters, and regulatory compliance, among others.
On the executive side, the team has provided years of transactional, public policy and strategy advice to clients on numerous matters with the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO), the Office of Incentives for Businesses in Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, the Puerto Rico Treasury Department, the Puerto Rico Public Private Partnership Authority (P3 Authority), the Office of the Financial Institutions Commissioner (OCIF), the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO), the Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (PREB), the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DNER) and the Permits Management Office (OGPe), among others.
In parallel, our team has conducted extensive work for local and stateside clients related to the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico (FOMB) under the federal PROMESA Act.
Additionally, our practice offers legislative support to clients including monitoring of hearings and bills; timely advise on legislative developments affecting their industries; advocacy sessions with stakeholders; and drafting of position papers and bills.
Our attorneys are recognized industry leaders with proven public service and related government experience in the executive and legislative branches at the Governor´s Office (La Fortaleza), government agencies, local public corporations, and government boards of directors, and are active members of the principal trade associations and other policy and economic development initiatives.
