Get to know Miguel
Miguel Otero-Sobrino is a Member Attorney in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group. He focuses his practice on the organization and continuing operation of a variety of private investment funds, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds and funds of funds. His experience with private investment funds extends to the development and negotiation of the organizational documents of such funds and the preparation of their offering materials. Miguel also provides legal counsel to banks, financial institutions, international financial entities, investment firms and asset managers in a broad range of regulatory and compliance issues, including matters related to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as well as other relevant regulators, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions.
Miguel joined Ferraiuoli after being part of the Corporate Regulatory Compliance Department of a publicly traded financial institution. He started his career in boutique law firm focused on complex commercial civil law litigation

Looking forward (on the legal or business front), what you see?
All markets will continue to change, become more competitive and will be impacted by economic, legal and innovative factors that one can’t control, but can however prepare for. To this end, I once read a quote that summaries this flawlessly: “We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails”- Bertha Calloway. It will be crucial for all of us at Ferraiuoli to keep up to date with these market and regulatory changes that will impact business frameworks, this in turn will put both our current and prospect clients in a position where they can benefit from our support and legal advice on their personal and/or business goals.
