Get to know CARLA
Carla J. Figueroa García is an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Tax Practice group, also collaborating with the Litigation teams. A Magna Cum Laude Juris Doctor graduate with a minor in Civil Law and two-time Best Advocate award winner, Carla combines a strong academic foundation with a robust legal background that spans tax, corporate, administrative, labor, and litigation matters.
With over five years of experience in investment management tax compliance—specializing in hedge funds and private equity—Carla has advised sophisticated clients on U.S. tax obligations while working at Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Her legal experience also includes hands-on work in regulatory filings, and trial preparation, which she developed as a law clerk and through her active role in trial advocacy.
As Captain of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Law Trial Team, ranked #29 in litigation by U.S. News & World Report back in 2025, Carla honed her courtroom skills and strategic thinking. Fluent in English and Spanish, she leverages her interdisciplinary background to provide comprehensive legal counsel across a variety of practice areas.
