NOTICE TO CLIENTS AND FRIENDS
Puerto Rico Integrated Resource Plan (“IRP”) Revision
With the enactment of Act 57-2014, as amended, also known as the Puerto Rico Energy Transformation and RELIEF Act, there was a legislative mandate for the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (“PREPA”) to develop an IRP to serve as a roadmap for the transformation of Puerto Rico’s electric grid. In compliance with such mandate, PREPA developed an initial IRP which was approved by the Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (“PREB”) in August 2020[1]. Act 57-2014 requires the IRP be modified and updated every three (3) years by the electric power company that operates the electric grid.[2]
Given this context, LUMA Energy LLC (“LUMA”), as the operator of Puerto Rico’s electric grid[3], is conducting workshops and open table discussions with relevant stakeholders in the process of modifying the IRP such that concerns are addressed before the revised IRP is submitted to PREB for their approval. LUMA has invited Ferraiuoli LLC to participate in a round table discussion on November 8, 2023, for stakeholders to share concerns that shall be addressed in the revision of the IRP.
To further discuss, participate, or obtain additional information on the IRP and the revision process, please feel free to contact us at your convenience.
