Sheila Marie Cruz-Rodríguez

Sheila is a Senior Associate Attorney at Ferraiuoli LLC. At Ferraiuoli her practice is focused on matters related to Intellectual Property, including, internet & e-commerce, rights of publicity, trade secrets, entertainment, copyrights, privacy matters, false advertising, unfair competition, and trademark prosecution and infringement litigation, media & communications law. Before joining Ferraiuoli, she served as an Associate Attorney Marini Pietrantoni Muñiz LLC, where her practice focused on matters related to civil and commercial litigation, including securities, insolvency, trademark and copyright infringement, and contract litigation. In addition, as a former In-house Counsel for a local import/export consulting firm, Sheila is one of the few attorneys in Puerto Rico with experience in matters related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Sheila is admitted to practice before the Courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.

Sheila has served in the public sector, working for the United States Attorneys’ Office where she gained experience in cases seeking to recover civil penalties under the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act (FIRREA). Sheila’s government experience also includes having interned for the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, where she was in charge of drafting memoranda on issues related to Financial Services.

Sheila holds a Bachelor’s in Science of Business Administration with a major in Organizational Studies (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus and a Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) Joint Degree from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law. While in law school Sheila served as Vice-President of the Intellectual Property student association, member of the Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition Team, and a contributor for the University of Puerto Rico School of Law Digital Law Review, UPR Business Law Journal, London Case Centre, and Ivey Publishing, where she published articles on a wide array of topics. As of May 2019, she holds an LLM in Competition, Innovation and Information Law, from the New York University, School of Law, where she was an active member of the Information Law Institute’s Privacy Research Group.
