Commercial Litigation

At first glance, litigation may be the “ugly duckling” of the practice of law.  Clients typically steer clear of litigators and approach litigation with hesitation and apprehension.  Our job is to effectively manage what some clients perceive to be the dread of litigation by becoming their trusted advisors and assisting them in reaching their business objectives.  We are sensitive to the mounting costs of litigation, place a high value in providing personal attention to our clients, and offer effective management of cases without compromising quality or substance.

In our experience, commercial litigation requires a broad knowledge of the law and the available legal proceedings without losing sight of practicality.  Our Commercial Litigation Practice Group boasts accomplished professionals from diverse backgrounds and work-experiences who have handled many issues both in state and federal courts, at all levels, as well as before administrative and quasi administrative agencies.  Although commercial litigators excel at being able practitioners in multiple areas of the law, our Commercial Litigation Department has several cross-disciplinary practice groups in specific areas such as Commercial Collection and Foreclosure, First Amendment, Media and Entertainment, Personal Injury, Product Liability and Aviation, Distribution and Franchising, and Health and Insurance.

In short, our litigation team is worth much more than a sum of its parts: whether we are managing controversies for one of Puerto Rico’s major shopping centers, defending a manufacturer from a significant product liability claim, or demanding access to public information on behalf of a media conglomerate, our members cover a broad spectrum of practice areas.  The key to our team’s success is the integration of experience with the drive characteristic of an innovative and hungry group of excellent practitioners.
